COMIC PANTS REVIEWS JOHNNY REPEAT
CITIZENS! David Martindale took a moment and some real estate on his brand-spanking new review site - comicpants.com - to give a fun and thought-twisted critique of JOHNNY REPEAT:
“It’s a book that well exemplifies what Dave Farabee coined as ‘The Grant Morrison Effect.’ Essentially ‘The Grant Morrison Effect’ is when I set down a book and say, ‘Wow that was really cool… and I know I enjoyed reading the book… but WTF happened?’”

David was particularly impressed with the incredible mix of artists found in JOHNNY REPEAT and their distinctive contributions to the visual storytelling of the book:
“I especially enjoyed the way different art styles were used in each part of the story that focused on different characters. The sharp lines and contrast in The Woman with No Name’s parts fit the sensual, refined deadliness of her character very well. The chaotic art style in Nathaniel’s parts fit his ultraviolent sexaholic personality. The brooding feel of Jeronimus comes out well in his parts as well with excellent use of not fully showing the face to display expression.”
A big thanks to David and Comic Pants co-contributor Randy Lander (who adds his own two cents and some constructive criticism at the end of the review) for their kind words and consideration.
